JIM HEGGEN - Bass, Vocals

 

Jim has been playing bass for many years in local Oklahoma City bands.  As a youngster, he started with an electric guitar at 13, and then acoustic later.  Many of his friends played guitar at the time, and the stiff competition led him to try the bass to get more playing time in.  The strategy worked.  So while some guitar players would have to sit out , he was able to play bass with his friends all the time.  That progressed into forming bands and playing at places like Tornado Alley, Sipango and other local OKC establishments.  Jim has been active in bands ever since and brings more than 20 years of experience to The Beatsmacks.
